Trends [Hunger Games..cough, cough]

I'm not one to follow trends. I loved Harry Potter and Twilight before it was 'the thing'. So naturally, when I started hearing so much fuss about the Hunger Games trilogy... I wanted nothing to do with it! The first time I heard someone saying how much they loved it, I thought "what is that?". Maybe it's a new diet book that everyone will get obsessed with... Then the other night my hottie husband and I went to Barnes and Noble as part of our date night to read magazines and books. I saw it was only $9! Super good steal for a book. So I went against my morals of going with trends.... and bought it. So that next day I was on the couch reading and thinking that yeah it's good and all but maybe not quite as much as everyone else talked it up. Then I realized I'm already half way through. Ok, so maybe there is truth to the madness. Last night I finish the book and almost have an anxiety attack because I HAVE to have the next one.. now! Yeah, I'm glad I'm not obsessed like all of those people out there. {Must.. get.. next.. book.. now!}

Prez day

A little late on this post.. Monday was a holiday so we did a little exploring of the area since we are still not that familiar with it. Ryder found some amazing springs and just pure beauty in nature on his morning bike ride, so he took me to see them later that day. (after a Starbucks stop of course). That afternoon we also went kayaking. I have no picture evidence since I was paranoid that my camera or phone would end up in the lake. It's almost Friday!!

Sheldon

I haven't blogged too much about our baby boy (dog), Sheldon lately. In case you didn't know we named him after the character from The Big Bang Theory. We are obsessed with that show! So pumped for Survivor and Modern Family tonight! Happy Wednesday everyone.

liveSTRONG

The LiveSTRONG Austin Marathon and Half Marathon was yesterday. I ran the half and had a blast. Improved my time from my last half by 8 minutes. It's such a great race for an even better cause. My lovely husband and our baby (dog) were there to support. My parents also came in to watch and support. My mom's birthday was on Wednesday so we also got to celebrate that! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did.

L is for love

Hope everyone had a great Valentines! I don't know about you, but I think I have overdosed on sugar. But it was oh so good. We had a perfect night in where we cooked dinner and watched a movie. I am forever grateful to chocolate covered cherries.

Love breakfast in the mornings, love breakfast in the evenings! We got this great mix from Whole Foods and added blueberries. Superb!

So if you know us, you know we like to eat healthy. However, we definitely enjoy our sweets from time to time. I am growing very attached to the Whole Foods store that is much too close to our apartment. Found this great brownie mix that turned out to be very delicious if I do say so myself.. Try them out!

So this has been such a long week because husband is already settled in our new apartment while I am finishing up work. Today is my last day of work so tomorrow I will be off to our new adventure in our new city! I have been in this small town for about 18 years. Lots of people who grow up here in Nederland never leave. Different strokes for different folks, right? We are beyond excited to start our new adventure. Who knows what is in store for our future. Nederland has been a great town to grow up in.. home to lots of my friends and family. So please feel free to follow us to Austin, everyone!
