a good day

Is it only Tuesday..? I was telling my mom the other day how when I am at work it seems like the time goes by slow, but once I get home and I'm happily with Ryder.. the time flies! But nevertheless, I'm so thankful for a job.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine entailed lots of cleaning, cooking, & baking.

I also got to meet some awesome new people at a book club. A little book talk & lots of good food=perfection. We read Stolen Lives by Malika Oufkir. It is amazing! It blows my mind that such corruption happened so recently and sadly I'm sure things like this still happen.
Have a great week, y'all!

Honeymoon: Las Vegas: Part 1

Flashback to our honeymoon... Almost a whole year ago! I never posted about it really. We had the best time. We aren't gamblers or drinkers, so a lot of people were shocked that we chose Las Vegas for our honeymoon. It was such a beautiful place. The people were nice, hotels beautiful, and food amazing. We spent a lot of time walking around and exploring the city.

We saw Cirque du Soleil- Love. It was all Beatles music and AMAZING! There was so much going on in the show; we were exhausted by the time it was over.

We stayed at the Monte Carlos and were very pleased with it.

We ate dessert at Serendipity and oh my goodness.. So good! I had been to Serendipity's in New York, so I was super pumped to find out there was one in Vegas.
We would both highly reccomend Vegas to anyone and we cannot wait to go back! It's an affordable trip (if you don't spend all your money gambling) and can even be done in a weekend. You spend so much time walking, that really only a few days is all your feet can handle.

Let's run!

I've ran in a total of 4 half marthon (13.1 miles) the past few years.
Running has been somewhat of an acquired taste for me.
At first, it was something I did to meet my goals of certains miles
and something just to stay in shape.
When Ryder and I started training for our first half, I couldn't ever run a mile.
I had gained over TWENTY pounds since going off to school.
20!!! I'm 5'3"... So yes, a very signifacant amount.
Running was what got me back to my healthy self.
Now when I haven't ran in a while, I start missing it.
This year I decided it was finally time to conquer a full marathon.
26.2 miles of excitment, exhaustion, and accomplishment.
The amazing support system of Ryder, friends, and family
make this sort of thing so easy and worthwhile.

So I challange you... do something out of your comfort box.
It drives me crazy when I hear people say, "oh I could never do that."
Because yes you can. If you really want to, you can.

That being said... November 11th I will be conquering the 26.2 miles!
Rock'n' Roll Marathon in San Antonio.

9/11

Lord, we come to You on bended knee, heads bowed and our hearts filled to overflowing with so much grief for the many people who have died, for those injured and for the families waiting for word of the missing, any word.
We ask you Lord, to give courage and strength to those who so bravely go to their aid. And though their hearts will be heavy and filled with sorrow we ask Lord that You give them the endurance needed to help them through this difficult task.
Please give us the strength Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty.
We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders during this crisis is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.
And lastly Lord, we ask that You allow us all to come together as a Nation, to stand tall and united, so that we might help each other in our hour of need.
Amen
